Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) Extended to September 2018

The NYS Department of Health, with support from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, established the Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) to help providers pay the costs of participating in the state’s health information exchange (HIE). Incentive funding is up to $13,000 per organization.

Through DEIP, providers can connect to the Bronx RHIO, which operates our borough’s HIE, and have the ability to access and share patient information upon patient consent.

The deadline for providers to apply has been extended by one year — from September 2017 to September 2018.

DEIP is open to the following organizations and providers:

  • Organizations with at least one provider that has attested to and been paid under the Medicare or Medicaid MU program (any year, any stage)
  • Long-Term Care providers (Article 28 nursing homes, Article 36 home care agencies and Article 40 hospice facilities)
  • Behavioral Health providers (OMH, OASAS, and HCBS designated providers)
